Seven flowers under the pillow is probably a Midsummer belief that many people are already familiar with. If your future spouse hasn't shown up despite the flowers, the problem may be in how the flowers were collected.

On Midsummer's Eve, gathering seven flowers or herbs under your pillow is believed to bring your future spouse into your dream. However, some believe that the flowers should also be picked in silence from seven different meadows.

If you already have a long list of interesting potential partners, you can try another magic trick involving flowers. On Midsummer Eve, you can name the flowers collected under your pillow after the candidates and see in the morning whose flower is the most vibrant. The person whose flower is in question should be your future spouse.

Where was the nearest well?

The well, that classic place of wishing and fortune teller of the future in stories.

Cottages these days are often nicer than detached houses, and you don't have to carry water from a well when you can get it from the tap. However, if you happen to come across a cottage with an old-fashioned well, it can also foretell the future during Midsummer.

On Midsummer's Eve, when you look into a well, your future spouse should appear. If you can't find a well, a pond will also work for this purpose. Of course, it adds strength to the magic if you are naked when looking into the water.

It's okay if you happen to spend Midsummer closer to a river than a pond! The magic of Midsummer Night can also be found by the river.

According to old beliefs, when washing your face on Midsummer's Eve by the riverbank, you should see your future spouse on the opposite bank.

So it's worth making sure you bring your glasses and on a larger river, binoculars could also be useful!

Take over the fields

As a city dweller, there are fewer of those fields nearby, but maybe in the cottage landscapes.

A spouse should be tempted to roll around naked in a dewy cornfield. (I get it!) According to old beliefs, a spouse will appear in your life already this year. However, according to some beliefs, rolling around “only” promises good marital luck.

The next one is a bit more challenging: if you find a triangular field somewhere and have the courage to go jogging on Midsummer's Eve, you might meet your future life partner! According to the belief, you should walk around the field naked three times and on the third time, your future life partner will meet you. What do you need Tinder for?!

Magic at home

You don't always have to leave your home when you know the right tricks.

Unfortunately, this magic is traditionally only for girls, but maybe others could try it too. You can also use it on Midsummer's Eve by sweeping the bedroom floor, naked of course. However, remember to wear a red string around your waist so that the groom's ghost will find you!

On Midsummer's Eve, you can also see your future spouse by placing two mirrors opposite each other. When you look into one mirror, your future spouse should appear in the other mirror. Is this creepy or convenient?

Before going to bed, you can try putting the sock on your left foot inside out. Traditionally, a five-penny coin is also placed in the sock, but perhaps in this euro era, any other coin will do the trick. After putting the sock on, you should not speak a word again until morning. This way, the face of your future spouse will appear in your dream.
